AG Report shows CM’s acumen as leader — GAUM
KOTA KINABALU: The AuditorGeneral's Report 2016 Series 1 which stated that Sabah has been well managed financially, clearly shows the capability of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman in governing the state, said Gerakan Akar Umbi Umno Malaysia (GAUM) president Datuk Zulkarnain Mahdar.
Zulkarnain said that Sabah, under the administration of Musa, who is also Finance Minister, has received numerous awards such as ‘AAA status' for seven years and being awarded the ‘Clean Bill' for 15 years in a row.
“This shows Musa's remarkable achievements and performance as the state leader.
“For example, before taking over the post of chief minister from Tan Sri Chong Kah Kiat in 2003, the state financial reserve was only around RM180 million but after he became the chief minister, Sabah State Finance Reserve is now at RM3.2 billion,” he said in a statement yesterday.
On Monday, the AuditorGeneral's Report 2016 Series 1 stated that the financial management of 31 Sabah state ministries, departments and agencies based on Accountability Index received an overall ‘Very Good' rating.
Of the 31 audited state ministries, departments and agencies in Sabah, 22 were rated ‘Excellent', six departments/agencies were rated ‘Good', and three other departments and agencies were rated ‘Satisfactory'.
This includes the State Secretary's Office which not only maintained excellence of five stars in financial management, but also increased its points significantly.
