SEDCO Golf Challenge calling for entries
KOTA KINABALU: The SEDCO (Sabah Economic Development Corporation) Group Sports and Social Club continues to call for entries for its Golf Challenge to be held at the Dalit Bay Golf and Country Club on August 19.
SG Club president Mordiana Abdullah said the 15th edition of the annual tournament is being held in conjunction with the 45th anniversary of SEDCO.
“To date, we have 20 teams (total 80 players) who have confirmed their registration and we expect more to submit their entries soon.
“We are targeting 30 teams, or 120 players, in this year’s tournament and the closing date is on August 9,” she said when contacted yesterday.
Attractive Hole-in-One prizes will be up for grabs including RM10,000 cash courtesy of IIB Insurance Brokers Bhd and a 43” LED television set from Cement Industries (Sabah).
Mordiana said the objective of the tournament was to raise funds for SG Club and its charity activities as well as to forge closer rapport between the members of SEDCO Group, government agencies and sports associations in Kota Kinabalu.
She said the System 36 Stableford format tournament features various categories, namely closed, open and team and individual entries.
“The organisers have prepared three prizes for the Team Nett, five prizes for the Individual Nett and three prizes for Individual Gross.
“We have also prepared novelty prizes for longest drive, nearest to the pin and nearest to the line,” Mordiana said.
