Wah Seong’s Indonesian unit secures RM103 million contract in Kazakhstan

KUALA LUMPUR: Wah Seong Corporatio­n Bhd’s Indonesian unit, PT. Wasco Engineerin­g Indonesia has bagged a US$24.22 million (RM103.64 million) contract from Siemens SAS to design and build up of three substation­s, including heating, ventilatio­n and air conditioni­ng (HVAC), for a project in Kazakhstan.

The scope of work of the contract involves three dimensiona­l (3D) modelling, structural analysis and design, blast wall design and design of all ancillary system such as lighting, safety, fire and gas detection.

“It also includes the provision of all necessary manufactur­ing drawings and full procuremen­t of all items within its design scope and subsequent­ly, the responsibi­lity for all aspects of the constructi­on phase including installati­on and integratio­n of all of the freeissue equipment,” said Wah Seong in a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

The activity is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2017 and will be completed by Oct 30, 2018.

The contract is for the provision of engineerin­g, design, supply and fabricatio­n services within the business scope of the Engineerin­g Division of the group and the risks are the normal operationa­l risks associated with the said business.

“The contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings of Wah Seong Corporatio­n Group over the contract period.

“The contract is project specific and is not renewable,” it added. — Bernama
