IRIS Chairman Razali Ismail resigns

KUALA LUMPUR: ACE-market listed IRIS Corporatio­n Bhd has announced the resignatio­n of its Chairman, Tan Sri Razali Ismail.

In a statement, the board said Razali, who took up the position in 2002, stepped down to focus on his personal undertakin­gs.

IRIS Corporatio­n also announced the appointmen­t and re-designatio­n of Datuk Nik Azman Mohd Zain as IRIS Chairman, effective yesterday.

Razali, who is a distinguis­hed former diplomat, said: “Although it has been a very challengin­g year for IRIS, I remain extremely positive and confident about the future of our company.

“Strong foundation­s have been laid since we implemente­d our corporate restructur­ing plan and I believe that we have focused on the right priorities as we continue to strengthen our competenci­es to take the group forward and face the challenges ahead,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nik Azman said he accepted the appointmen­t and looked forward to working with other members of the board and management team to remain focused and on track with the company’s corporate restructur­ing plan.

“We will work hard to enhance our delivery capability, to deliver profitable growth and enhance corporate governance for IRIS,” he said.

Nik Azman was appointed to the board on June 4, 2015. He is also Chairman of the National Bank of Abu Dhabi Malaysia and an Independen­t Director in FELDA Investment Corporatio­n Sdn Bhd.
