IRIS Chairman Razali Ismail resigns
KUALA LUMPUR: ACE-market listed IRIS Corporation Bhd has announced the resignation of its Chairman, Tan Sri Razali Ismail.
In a statement, the board said Razali, who took up the position in 2002, stepped down to focus on his personal undertakings.
IRIS Corporation also announced the appointment and re-designation of Datuk Nik Azman Mohd Zain as IRIS Chairman, effective yesterday.
Razali, who is a distinguished former diplomat, said: “Although it has been a very challenging year for IRIS, I remain extremely positive and confident about the future of our company.
“Strong foundations have been laid since we implemented our corporate restructuring plan and I believe that we have focused on the right priorities as we continue to strengthen our competencies to take the group forward and face the challenges ahead,” he said.
Meanwhile, Nik Azman said he accepted the appointment and looked forward to working with other members of the board and management team to remain focused and on track with the company’s corporate restructuring plan.
“We will work hard to enhance our delivery capability, to deliver profitable growth and enhance corporate governance for IRIS,” he said.
Nik Azman was appointed to the board on June 4, 2015. He is also Chairman of the National Bank of Abu Dhabi Malaysia and an Independent Director in FELDA Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd.
