Beautiful Sabah online photography, videography contest

KOTA KINABALU: The Beautiful Sabah (BS) online contest organized by Sabah Tourism Board (STB) is back again for the third year, starting from August 1 to September 30.

BS 3.0 is a photography and videography competition where the public can submit either photos or videos or both, STB (Communications) deputy general manager Noredah Othman said in a statement here yesterday.

While the conditions for submitting video remain the same as last year, the photo contest is more focus towards submission of these three categories; Nature & Wildlife, Culture and Architecture.

In last year’s BS 2.0, STB received about 100 entries and the 10 winning videos can be viewed at Sabah Tourism’s YouTube Channel.

The first Beautiful Sabah which was held in 2015 was a photography contest.

“Participation from the public was overwhelming where we received submissions reaching to 3000 photos,” she said.

The winning photos can be viewed at STB’s online media gallery at http://media. borneophotos.com/.

The objective of Beautiful Sabah is to provide an avenue for enthusiasts or the public at large to express their Beautiful Sabah through their photography and videography skills.

“It is also a way to recognize local talent, encourage creativity and to promote our beautiful state to the world.”

STB aims to receive 1,000 images and 100 videos from the public where the best 30 photos and five videos will be chosen and featured through STB’s promotion and marketing activities, especially through social media platforms.

“Everyone is invited to participate in this contest and tell us your interpretation of Beautiful Sabah through your photos and videos,” said Noredah.
