CM asks SUCCC to help woo China touists investos
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman hoped Sabah United Chinese Chambers of Commerce (SUCCC) led by its newly elected president Tan Sri Andrew Liew Sui Fatt will assist the State Government in developing Sabah and pave the way for greater collaboration with China especially in terms of business and investments.
“Sabah has been attracting a lot of tourists from China. These tourists are not only interested in visiting Sabah, they also like to invest in our State.
“I believe Liew will play an important role in working hand in hand with the State Government to establish collaboration with the Chinese counterparts,” Musa said during a courtesy call by Liew here on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister also congratulated Liew on winning the SUCCC presidency, saying the latter’s victory came in the right place at the right time.
“I have known Liew for a long time. He is a successful, hardworking businessman and kind to his friends. He has done a lot of charity work for Chinese vernacular schools and temples.
“Liew’s victory is a sign that his contribution is recognized by the Chinese community,” he said.
Musa said the State Government too recognized the significant role the Chinese community played in Sabah, especially towards the state’s economic development.
“It is my hope that SUCCC will continue to foster closer relations among the diverse communities and uphold the prevailing peace and harmony in Sabah,” he said.
