BNM to host Karnival Kewangan Sabah this weekend

KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) in collaboration with the financial industry will organise Karnival Kewangan Sabah at Suria Mall Kota Kinabalu fromAugust 4 to 6, 2017.

Themed ‘Your Financial Needs Matters', the Karnival aims to elevate public's awareness on financial services, financial literacy and protection of consumers that will empower them to make informal decisions and providing them the access to financial services through a one-stop platform.

According to a press statement, Karnival Kewangan Sabah will provide an opportunity to members of the public, particularly the Sabahans, to obtain information on financial products and services from 43 participating institutions including financial service providers (FSPs), associations and state government agencies offering a wide range of financial services and products catering to different needs.

During the three-day event, a series of financial activities are available for members of the public such as financial counselling and dispute resolution services, checking of financial records and printing of credit reports (CCRIS), advice on schemes or funds available for small businesses and SMEs, and information on the Malaysian currency and security features.

Pocket talks on financial management from Agensi Kaunseling & Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK), getrich-quick schemes and financial scams by Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) will also be available.

With the concept of edutainment, visitors can look forward to appearances and performances by local celebrities and win attractive prizes at the event. Fun-filled activities include games and quizzes, celebrity performances and karaoke contest.
