KUCHING: State representatives in the Miss Earth Malaysia 2017 competition in Ipoh, Perak recently brought home many subsidiary titles including the Eco Tourism and Eco Beauty.

The Miss Earth Malaysia 2017 Eco Tourism went to Ennette Faith Solomon while Miss Earth Malaysia 2017 Eco Beauty to Jean Seymour Harry.

There were five finalists from Sarawak out of 26 from Malaysia, according to a press statement from state-level organiser BR Empire Creations.

After being crowned Miss Sarawak Earth 2017 early last month at a hotel here, Ennette together with Jean Seymour, Vivianna Jimbun, Marzella Sigai and Maria Madelina Sujie represented Sarawak at the national-level Miss Malaysia Earth 2017 in Ipoh, Perak from July 20 to 31.

Ennette also bagged the Media Gorgeous Award (silver) and Best Environmental Wear (silver) while Marzella captured the Miss Tropical Beauty, Best in Evening Gown (bronze) and Most Glamorous Look (bronze).

Maria Madelina was Top Five for Best in Talent Miss Malaysia Earth 2017 for her rendition of a beautiful Sarawak ethnic contemporary dance at the grand finals.

The overall winner of Miss Malaysia Earth 2017, Cherish Ng of Penang will be the ambassador for environmental protection campaigns nationwide. Ng will represent Malaysia at the internationallevel of Miss Earth 2017 beauty pageant to be held later this year in Manila, Philippines.

Ennette said she scrolled Facebook one day and out of curiosity snapped a photo of herself to send to the organiser BR Empire Creations - the rest is history.

She and the other finalists had to go through interviews, prejudging evaluation and talent sessions, runway skills, makeup class, social etiquette exposure, countless photo or video shoots and wardrobes fitting sessions and competitions.
