Join 8-Ball Pool Tourney on Aug 22
KOTA KINABALU: Cueists in the state capital are invited to join the 8-Ball Pool Tournament which would be held at the Mansau Ansau Cafe & Lounge, Bundusan Square beginning August 22.
Organising chairman Joachim Gaban said the tournament, which is being held in conjunction with the Merdeka month, aimed to attract 30 entries.
“The tournament would be held in a group league format for the first round. The winner and runner up of each group will advance to the next stage, which is the elimination round.
“The tournament will comply with the billiards 8Ball tournament rules and regulation and would be held every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,” Joachim said when met in Penampang yesterday.
He added that the competition schedule would be released at the tournament draw and briefing.
Attractive cash prizes will be up for grabs including RM500 for the winner, RM300 for the runner-up and RM200 and RM100 for third and fourth place winners respectively.
“We hope that this tournament would help make the Merdeka Day celebrations more merry and that it also helps unite the people in harmony through the spirit of sportsmanship regardless of their ethnic and religious backgrounds,” said Joachim.
