AICB, Perum Jamkrindo ink MoU to boost professional financial education
KUALA LUMPUR: The Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) and Perusahaan Umum Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Perum Jamkrindo) yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen, promote, co-operate and mutually assist each other in the area of professional financial education.
AICB Council Member, Datuk Mohamed Azmi Mahmood, said the collaboration would particularly support the professional development of credit guarantee practitioners of two parties.
“The areas of co-operation include exchange of expertise, promotion of AICB’s credit professional qualification for Jamkrindo’s staff development and other areas of mutual benefits,” he said at the signing ceremony here yesterday.
Mohamed Azmi and Perum Jamkrindo President Director, Diding S. Anwar, signed the MoU.
He said with the growing complexity in banking and financial markets, financial products, technology advancement and changing customer demand, there was clearly a strong recognition and demand for talents with the right skill-set to drive these changes and advancements.
“Therefore, it is imperative that financial institutions ensure that their employees have the capabilities in meeting the demand of these new job roles,” he said. He said the collaboration would enable the two parties to achieve their common goals and objectives set out in the MoU.
Meanwhile, Diding said, he hoped the MoU would provide the opportunities for both sides to introduce professional qualifications in credit guarantee for Perum Jamkrindo’s employees and its affiliated companies.
Perum Jamkrindo is the first and biggest state-owned credit guarantee company in Indonesia which focuses on credit guarantee’s business activities, both convential and shariah. — Bernama
