Long serving journalists to be honoured
KOTA KINABALU: The Kota Kinabalu Journalists Association (KKJA) will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary cum Press Night at Hakka Hall on August 31 at 6.30 pm.
The event received great support from KKJA honorary advisor, Datuk Seri Panglima Dr T.C. Goh, who is also the president of The Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS).
In conjunction with the silver jubilee, KKJA will be presenting long service awards to recognize its members who have served and are still working in the journalism industry continuously for at least 25 years.
KKJA chairman Yong Ted Phen said the long service awards aimed to recognize the contribution of senior reporters and editors who remained committed and passionate about their work in this field.
Application forms will be distributed starting today (August 16).
Members who meet the criteria are welcome to apply before the deadline on August 23.
On another note, Yong also thanked Goh for his support for the association.
“Goh has been an honorary advisor of KKJA for close to 20 years and he is very supportive of our events and activities,” he said after a courtesy call on Goh here.
Also present were organizing chairman Jimmy Goh, KKJA secretary Chuah Kim Huat and welfare officer James Tseu.
