KKJA Press Nite receives more support

KOTA KINABALU: The Kota Kinabalu Journalist­s Associatio­n (KKJA) led by its chairman, Yong Ted Phen, called on Minister of Special Tasks Datuk Teo Chee Kang, Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Edward Yong Oui Fah and Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) deputy president Datuk Chin Su Phin here yesterday.

The purpose of the courtesy call was to invite Teo, Edward and Chin to the upcoming 25th Anniversar­y Celebratio­n cum Press Night at Hakka Hall on August 31.

Teo is a legal advisor of KKJA while both Edward and Chin are honorary advisors of the associatio­n.

During the courtesy calls, Yong and organizing chairman Jimmy Goh briefed the advisors on the event as well as the long service award for members who had served in the journalism industry continuous­ly for at least 25 years.

Yong also thanked the advisors for their strong support to the associatio­n.

The event also received strong support from KKJA honorary advisors, Datuk Michael Lui and Datuk Frankie Liew.

Lui said the long service award was a very meaningful gesture to recognize journalist­s and editors who had remained dedicated to their line of work for more than 25 years.

The committee also personally presented an invitation letter to its medical advisor Dr Wah Hai Sit.
