Hotel burning spirit of giving back

KOTA KINABALU: Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu’s weeklong 20th anniversar­y ended with innocent smiles on faces of residents of Rumah Bakti Harapan (RBH), Inanam a home (adopted by the hotel since 2001) to residents who are physically and mentally challenged.

“We brought much needed “Gifts” (pants, Juicer, Wooden Round Table, basic Wardrobes and heavy duty plastic chairs), said Ms. Alinah Kong, the Hotel’s Marketing Communicat­ions Officer.

Alinah added that the hotel delivered perishable goods to RBH and absorbed the home’s monthly electricit­y, Astro and telephone bills.

Pastor Ginantar, who is in charge of overseeing the home, gladly welcomes any form of contributi­ons as the home depends on it from the general public for their daily operationa­l needs.

Earlier in the week, the following were successful­ly carried out and unveiled - Health and Wellness activities for hotel employees, a Blood Donation Campaign in collaborat­ion with Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) Blood Bank; a Health Awareness Talk in collaborat­ion with Gleneagles Kota Kinabalu and a Yoga Fitness Campaign organised by Promenade Sports Club (August 14 and 15); Educationa­l Tour for kids from Chung Hwa Likas Kindergart­en themed Chocolate Fiesta (August 16); One Day Super Sale on the hotel’s 20th anniversar­y with free 500g cake for diners (at Promenade Cafe & Dynasty Restaurant) whose birth dates are on August 17 and RM20 for a Set of Halal Dim Sum.
