S'kan camp open for national service enrolment

SANDAKAN: The National Service (NS) Program Bagai Budi Camp here welcomes teenagers who are interested to voluntaril­y enroll as NS trainees for the Group 4 Special Series 2017 which will start in September.

General Director of NS Department, Dato Mohmed Asri Yusof said the registrati­on is open to 400 candidates and has started from now until September 10 as the training starts on September 30 for 60 days.

Eligible teenagers must be Malaysian, aged between 18 to 21 years old, healthy, never enrolled in NS program and must get permission from parents or guardians.

Those interested can sign up at their former school or visit the NS website. They can also register by going directly to the Bagai Budi Camp or call 089-671 499 for further informatio­n.

“For now, 164 candidates have registered for the NS program at Bagai Budi Camp for September enrollment,” he said to reporters after attending the coordinati­on of trainee enrollment meeting NS 2.0 at Bagai Budi Camp, yesterday.

According to Mohmed Asri, the NS management wants to get cooperatio­n from the Education Department in order to offer skills knowledge for trainees who undergo the training in September.

“We are hoping that trainees for this special series are able to learn several skills either automotive, constructi­on, fishing or farming throughout their training at Bagai Budi Camp,” he added.

Therefore, he welcomes and encourages school leavers to take the opportunit­y to become NS trainees at Bagai Budi Camp.
