ISM offering four courses for September intake

-

TAWAU: The Institute of Science and Management Tawau (ISM) is now offering four courses which are, Diploma in Agribusiness Management, Diploma in Business Studies, Diploma in Accounting and English & IELTS Short Courses for September intake 2017.

Since 26 years, the performance of ISM has shown improvement over the years while offering courses from Alevels to the new course, Diploma in Agribusiness Management in 2017. ISM is the only college in the state that has received five-star College Based Ratings in 2014/2015 under the Malaysia Quality Evaluation System (MyQUEST), hence, proving the quality of education provided.

Diploma courses have been designed with flexibility, as students do not need to choose their major hastily. Students who study Diploma in Business Studies or Diploma in Accounting will have the same courses during the first year of study and then proceed to their preferred major subject during the second year. The first year of study is a year for students to understand and figure out their future career. Therefore, subjects in the first year are important to students in choosing which major subject that they will take afterwards, either Accounting or Business Studies.

Apart from that, ISM has made industrial attachment a compulsory subject for every student. Through the three months' period of internship, students are not only exposed to practical work experience, but are also equipped with new skills and abilities while gathering precious life experience.

Upon graduation, students can choose to further their study either in local or overseas universities, for example: Anglia Ruskin University (UK), University College Birmingham(UK), University of Cumbria(UK), University of Lincoln(UK), Loughborough College (UK), Middlesex University (UK), Teesside University (UK), Queensland University of Technology (AUS),Studialis (FRANCE), University of the Highlands and Islands (UK), PSB Academy (SINGAPORE) and University of South Australia (AUS).

Moreover, students can also transfer their diploma credit hours to degree courses. This will allow them to be exempted from the first year of study or even two years for some degree courses. Without a doubt, this can definitely help in reducing their overall education cost. In short, with the credit-hour transfer system, students now only have to study for three to four years in order to get both Diploma and Degree qualifications.

SPM graduates and UEC Senior 3 graduates can bring along any related academic results to the Student Services & Information Centre at ISM or call 089779 623 for more enquiries. The deadline for English & IELTS Short Courses registration is on September 18.
