98% of 48 ISM candidates shine in A-Level exams

TAWAU: The Institute of Science and Management (ISM) has hit a new high in the June 2017 Cambridge International Examinations A-Level results released on August 10.

Seven students achieved 4A's, six students scored 3A's and five obtained 2A's.

CEO of ISM, Lawrence Kow, said 48 candidates sat for the examination this year, scoring a passing rate of 98 per cent, three per cent improvement from last year.

The number of straight A's students has also increased from four students last year to seven this year.

He congratulated the students for their excellent achievement and attributed the success to all of the teaching staff who had shown their endless dedication and commitment in teaching.

He also wishes the students a bright and glorious future ahead.

The subjects with 100 per cent passing rate are Biology, Chemistry, Further Mathematics, and Physics. Nine out of the 21 candidates in Biology obtained A's or above, 15 out of 29 students in Chemistry achieved A's or above, while nine out of 17 candidates in Physics obtained A's or above.

The passing rates for Business and Economics are 80 per cent and 76 per cent respectively, where three students scored A's or above in each subject.

For Accounting, the passing rate is 95% with five students obtaining A's or above. Forty-two students sat for Mathematics and the passing rate is 95 per cent, with 19 students scoring A's or above.
