Man stabbed after argument with ex-wife

KUCHING: A man was severely wounded when stabbed on the left side of his chest by an unknown individual following an argument with his ex-wife at a hotel at Jalan Haji Taha on Friday.

It was believed that the incident happened around 8pm after the 36year-old from Jalan Astana bumped into his ex-wife.

They argued and the man ended up assaulting his ex-wife who sought help from an unknown individual.

The latter responded by stabbing the man on the left side of his chest with a sharp object.

The injured victim was rushed to Sarawak General Hospital where he was initially warded at the Red Zone under observatio­n for internal bleeding.

He is now in stable condition.

In a separate case, a 21-yearold youth from Kota Samarahan was seriously injured after being assaulted by a group of men at a coffee shop at Tabuan Jaya around 2am yesterday.

The motive for the assault is still not known.

It was learnt that the victim operates a cyber gambling outlet at a coffee shop in Tabuan Jaya.

Following the assault, his friend brought him to Tabuan Jaya Police Station to lodge a report.

Police contacted the Civil Defence Department for assistance to bring the victim to hospital.
