CM urges Umno members to unite

-

NABAWAN: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman said it is important that all Umno members are united in line with their slogan “Bersatu, Berkhidmat, Bersetia”.

“This is not for the sake of our people but also for the sake of developing Sabah and our party divisions throughout the state,” he told reporters here yesterday.

Musa, who is also Sabah Umno Liaison Chairman, represented Umno President and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak when opening the Umno Zone 4 Delegates Meeting comprising the Ranau, Keningau, Pensiangan and Tenom divisions here yesterday.

He said the delegates were very happy and enthusiastic in thanking the party leadership, especially the party president, and they also wanted to support the top leadership and division leaders to ensure that Umno remained strong and united.

“So this is how we are in Umno and BN (Barisan Nasional) and if we have political stability and peace, it will be easy for us to plan for developments in our state and ensure they are run smoothly,” Musa said.

The Chief Minister, on behalf of Umno and BN Zone 4, also thanked the Prime Minister for his concern for the state, as shown by the allocation for RM8 million for the four divisions of the zone.

Touching on a statement by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan, Musa reiterated that the state’s revenue had jumped by RM3.5 billion in 2015 from RM176 million in 1972.

“That’s right, and this shows that our GDP has grown significantly from our planning and administration, while also showing the importance of strong cooperation and support from the federal government.

“The cooperation that exists between the state and federal governments helps both sides to increase this growth,” he said.

Musa stressed that this was noteworthy and pointed out that this was not solely the opinion of the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department as it had also been acknowledged by the Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia, who also described Sabah’s GDP growth as impressive.

“We believe we are on the right track and I hope we will continue our efforts to develop Sabah and benefit everyone as a whole,” he said.
