Lai Kar Wan grabs Men’s nett golf category
TAWAU: The Third Tawau Parliamentary Cup Golf Tournament 2017 at Tawau Golf Club (TGC) Hotspring Golf Course here on August 19-20 attracted 187 golfers.
The tee-off and the prize presentation ceremony were officiated by Tawau Member of Parliament, Datuk Dr Mary Yap Kain Ching.
Yap said it was a moment of enjoyment and excitement for the golfers while strengthening their friendship through their participation in the game.
She said it was a very happy collaboration where the golfers could play and learn together regardless of their different ethnic and religious backgrounds.
She thanked all golfers and the organising committee for their commitment in making the tourney a success.
Lai Kar Wan won the Men’s Nett category while Mohamad Rasi Solong came in second and Julaydi Mattuju was third. Fourth to seventh placings went to Yuen Kee Foo, Baharuddin Saing, Yap Chee Yoong and Muhammad bin Larasi.
The Men’s Gross category was won by Welden Marzuki with Raymond Yee taking the second spot and Lt. Kdr Mazlan bin Mehat in third place followed by Brandon Lai, Yoshar Abd Wahab and Andy Sia in fourth to sixth place.
Lydia Liew grabbed the Ladies’ Nett category title with Chong Sui Khun and Amy Fong in second and third spot respectively.
The champion in the Senior category was Chong Pan Kim while the first runner-up went to David Liew Chee Ken and second runner-up to Robin Kau. Richard Yuen, Robert Chin and Anwar Latip took the fourth to sixth placings respectively.
The four winners for the Invitees category were Tuan Armansyah, Jafri Abd Hamid, Jason Wong and Gavi Loan Marcus. Also present were TGC president Mr Chin Nyuk Keong and district police chief ACP Fadil bin Haji Marsus.
