Tawau school’s digital classroom gets RM20,000

TAWAU: The digital classroom facilities of SJK Sin Hwa here received a RM20,000 contributi­on from two companies.

OMK Sdn Bhd and Media Desa Sdn Bhd also contribute­d 1,400 pieces of Jalur Gemilang for the pupils of the primary school and its kindergart­en during the National Day 2017 celebratio­n at SJKC Sin Hwa here yesterday morning.

The chairman of the school board of governors, Shim Nyuk Min, received a mock cheque from OMK Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Alani Othman in the presence of Media Desa Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Koh Kian Leong and school principal Chu Voon Fui.

In his speech, Koh, who is the advisor to SJKC Sin Hwa 1978 alumni group, encouraged students to master various learning skills related to innovation, informatio­n, integrated living, career and the media and technology in this 21st century era in order to develop into a balanced and harmonious person physically, emotionall­y, spirituall­y and intellectu­ally.

He hoped that the students will strive towards the National Education Philosophy in order to expand their potential as a whole.

According to Koh, educationa­l philosophy plays a vital role in leading the nation and shaping the students as can be seen in the educationa­l philosophy of Germany, Britain and China.

“In order to achieve a successful career, every individual should be discipline­d and be able to study smartly.

“We also need to be civilized, to have a firm and unwavering stand, be prudent and have impeccable values in order to improve,” he added.

Meanwhile, Chu urged the students to appreciate the importance of a patriotic spirit and the meaning of independen­ce for the sake of harmony in the country.

Chu said the school would endeavour to cultivate the value of respect for others in the students in order to transcend the issue of culture, race and religion for the sake of unity of the nation.
