More business outlets invited to supply school uniforms

-

SIBU: More business outlets are invited to become the supplier of school uniforms under the school uniform assistance programme implemented by Yayasan Sarawak, said its director Azmi Bujang.

He said outlet owners could go to the nearest resident office to get listed as suppliers in the effort to provide more choices for the recipients to get their school uniform from.

“The outlets need to have an account with Bank Simpanan Nasional because payment will be made by the bank and they need not worry about late payment as the money would be credited into their accounts when they make their claim for payment,” he said.

He was speaking in a press conference after chairing a meeting to review the implementation of the programme here yesterday.

To date, a total of 10,882 or about 55 percent of 19,822 school uniform assistance programme vouchers issued to all 12 resident offices in Sarawak had been distributed to students who have been identified via e-Kasih system or by district education offices.

The needy students received a RM200 voucher each to enable them to buy school uniforms from the registered outlets.

Azmi said those students who are affected by disasters such as fire and flood could also ask for the assistance from their schools, district education offices, district offices or the resident office. Bernama
