ISM Tawau launches new Diploma in Agribusiness Management
TAWAU: The Institute of Science and Management (ISM) Tawau has launched a new programme, Diploma in Agribusiness Management (DAM), with a duration of two years which only a few local institutes provide in this country.
The launching of this programme was not only aimed at providing more choices for students interested in agribusiness, but also to nurture more talents in modern agribusiness and management.
DAM not only enriches the students’ knowledge and skills in certain areas but also helps them in understanding and predominating traditional agriculture with basic management theory and information technology, which will enhance their ability and competency in this line of work.
During the last semester of the programme, students will be recruited into either local or foreign companies for a threemonth internship. During attachment, students will be able to obtain real life working experience while combining both their theoretical and practical knowledge.
DAM subjects includes Agribusiness Management, Management, Principles of Marketing, English, Computer Application, Plant Biology, Plantation Crop, Agri Machineries and Animal Husbandry among others.
DAM graduates will have broader skills and knowledge in agribusiness management so as to give them more choices for their future career, especially in agribusiness management prospect related to production, business planning, management, sales, communications, services and et cetera.
Aside from DAM, the ISM Tawau has also started enrolment for the September intake of Diploma in Accounting as well as Diploma in Business Studies.
The deadline for the September intake is on September 18. Please bring along related academic results and a copy of identification card for registration at the Students Services and Information Centre of ISM.
