LDP Sandakan Youth distributes Jalur Gemilang

-

SANDAKAN: In conjunction with Merdeka Day and Malaysia Day celebrations, LDP Sandakan Youth recently distributed Malaysia flags to motorists and motorcyclists at several areas around town.

Led by the movement's chief Tsang Hieng Yee, they held the activity at the Central Market, Mile 1.5 Market and Kim Fung Market.

Tsang said that activity was aimed at creating a vibrant Merdeka atmosphere in town and to promote and cultivate the culture of raising the ‘Jalur Gemilang' during Merdeka Day and Malaysia Day.

LDP Youth, he said, believed that through this activity, they had achieved their objectives because the flags were very well received by the general public from all ethnic backgrounds and the 150 flags allocated to each location (total 450 flags) were distributed within half an hour.

“We, LDP youths are very glad to have played a role through this effort, albeit maybe a small one, but it is a most sincere one, to promote patriotism and love towards our country among the Sandakan citizens.

“We always believe that our love and patriotism for our country, Malaysia shall not be confused with politics. The celebration of Merdeka Day and Malaysia Day as well as our love to Malaysia has nothing to do with our political stance and ideology. No matter in which political philosophy we believe, we shall still celebrate Merdeka Day and Malaysia Day with full pride and contentment,” Tsang stressed.
