Silam Umno confident of people's support

LAHAD DATU: Silam Umno is confident that their hard work will pay off at the 14th general election (GE).

Its head of division Datuk Mohd Yusof Apdal said Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) had always work hard to serve the people, regardless of time.

Yusof said BN not only appeared during the election season, but had always approached the people as it was BN’s priority to prosper the people.

“We believe the people can evaluate the ability of the BN government to develop the country and its people.

“I am confident that people will continue to support BN as our service to the people is all the time, not on a seasonal basis,” he said.

Yusof, who is also the assemblyman for Lahad Datu, said Silam Umno was also ready to face the 14th GE at any time.

He said preparations had been made since BN won the previous election and it had never stopped working since then.

Silam district polling centres (PDM) have also started their machinery through community programmes and roadshows to approach the people.

Yusof said the general election was just an assessment and he believed their hard work in serving the people would be rewarded with the people’s support.

Yusof also said the cooperation among Umno wings, namely Wanita, Pemuda and Puteri, was also very good in helping the BN machinery in Silam.

He said the division and the wings were always communicating with each other to further strengthen the party.

“Although we have our own responsibilities in implementing community programmes, we always communicate with each other to avoid overlapping tasks,” he added.
