Najib requests flag flown at half-mast

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has requested that the Malaysian flag be flown at half-mast throughout the country following the passing of Kedah Sultan Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah.

In a statement published on his blog, the Prime Minister expressed his deepest condolence­s to Sultanah of Kedah Tuanku Hajah Haminah Hamidun, the children and the kin of the Kedah Ruler.

“I also ask that all parties fly the Malaysian flag at half-mast throughout the country for two days in a row, starting on the burial day today, Sept 12, 2017, which is 21 Zulhijjah 1438 Hijrah,” he added.

Tuanku Abdul Halim passed away at 2.30pm yesterday.
