Najib requests flag flown at half-mast

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has requested that the Malaysian flag be flown at half-mast throughout the country following the passing of Kedah Sultan Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah.

In a statement published on his blog, the Prime Minister expressed his deepest condolences to Sultanah of Kedah Tuanku Hajah Haminah Hamidun, the children and the kin of the Kedah Ruler.

“I also ask that all parties fly the Malaysian flag at half-mast throughout the country for two days in a row, starting on the burial day today, Sept 12, 2017, which is 21 Zulhijjah 1438 Hijrah,” he added.

Tuanku Abdul Halim passed away at 2.30pm yesterday.
