Bid to smuggle out cooking gas cylinders foiled

TAWAU: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) detained a 35-yearold local man and seized nine cooking gas cylinders yesterday.

MMEA operations director Commander Romli Hj Mustafa said the suspect from Sebatik Island was caught trying to smuggle out the gas cylinders at 9.45am at Sungai Haji Kuning, Sebatik Island.

He said a MMEA patrol boat stopped a speedboat and it was found loaded with the gas cylinders and four bundles of used clothing.
