... Institute Latihan Perindustrian (ILP) Sandakan played against a Sandakan District Tennis Association team in a friendly match yesterday. ILP Sandakan, who is sending a team to the 1Malaysia Datin Rosmah Mansor Sabah Team Tennis Invitational Tournament with combined players from SDTA, tested their strength in the friendly. Both teams fought out the age categories which ended at four matches each. Sabah Tennis Association (STA) president Johnson Koh represented SDTA while ILP was spearheaded by S. John and Ismail Alpha. “The matches were a test of the players’ mental strength and also to create tennis ties among the players of the two clubs,” said Koh in a statement yesterday. For the record, a record entry of 18 teams from within and outside Sabah will take part in the invitational tournament here from September 15-17.
