Eight motorcycle theft suspects detained
KOTA KINABALU: Police arrested eight people who they believed to be involved in eight motorcycle theft cases since February this year.
City police chief ACP M. Chandra said the suspects, aged between 18 and 36, were nabbed during several police raids around the state capital between August 22 and September 11.
Chandra said most of the thefts were reported in Inanam and Kolombong between February and September this year.
Police have also seized three motorcycles, a motorcycle frame and three motorcycle engines valued at RM6,000.
Six of the suspects were also positive of drug abuse, he said.
With the arrest of the suspects, police believe they have solved eight motorcycle theft cases around the state capital.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code.
