Appreciate sacrifices to achieve independence — ESSCom
LAHAD DATU: Youths should appreciate the sacrifices of the previous generation in obtaining independence by doing their best to maintain it.
Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCom) Chief Executive Officer Noor Alam Khan A Wahid Khan said youths are the heirs of the country and it is important for them to understand the meaning of independence that has been achieved.
Noor Alam when met at the Konvoi Singgah Merdeka ESSCom yesterday, said this programme is among the approaches undertaken by ESSCom to share the meaning of struggle and independence.
“Through this programme, we share with the youths, especially students, the meaning of independence and the hardship that was endured by the previous generation.
“The youths are our future generation, they should be reminded about the importance of independence and efforts to maintain it,” he said.
Noor Alam also reminded the youths to become excellent individuals.
He added that as future leaders, they must become individuals of quality and high integrity.
Noor Alam also urged all parties to maintain the independence of our country together.

Forty ESSCom personnel took part in the programme in 25 vehicles, including two armored vehicles and they visited seven schools here.
