HONG KONG: Louis Koo has modestly brushed aside his potential for winning more awards when a crowd of fans started chanting “Best actor, best actor” during a promotional event.

Addressing his fans, Louis said: “Thank you everyone, awards depend on fate. I am already very happy that the audience likes it!”

Louis was referring to his current box-office hit, Paradox, which has already raked in over 520 million yuan (RM339 million) in mainland China and almost HK$8 million in Hong Kong.

With the robust takings, it is currently the highestgrossing domestic action film this summer.

Louis and other cast members had gathered for dinner to celebrate the feat.

Joining him were stars like Gordon Lam, Michelle Saram and Hanna Chan. It was livened up with a lucky draw with a total prize of HK$1.7 million (RM935,000).

Louis disclosed that he is to start work on the Roy Chow movie Dynasty Warriors soon. On the possibility of a Best Actor nomination, Louis said: “I also hope it would happen because I am happy to be able to make a good movie. Whether I win an award or not, fate will decide!” On the possibility of collaborating with Jessica Hester Hsuan again, Louis said: “Of course I do, we haven’t seen each other for a long time. I know that many friends online want us to work together again, whether in film or otherwise!” Louis also disclosed that his hectic schedule is taking a toll on his health. Commenting on this, Louis said: “I have too much to remember in my mind. Often when I dream I am working on movies. I wouldn’t take sleeping pills. I am getting used to it (not having enough sleep).”
