Govt creating more jobs for youths – CM

-

SANDAKAN: The state and federal governments are working to create various industries in the state to provide more job opportunities, especially to needy young people.

Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Haji Aman said the effort was to ensure that young people with SPM, diploma, degree and other qualifications could seek employment and prevent them from being jobless.

“The state and federal governments are always working together to create various industries such as agriculture, manufacturing, tourism and so forth in order to give opportunity for the youths.

“We realise it is not easy to find jobs but with this effort mooted by the government, it will certainly give a chance to these newly graduated and fresh school leavers. However, youths should not be choosy when finding jobs as it is hard to find the job that you require.

“Just take the job that you get offered and it shall be a platform for you to learn and gain more knowledge and skills,” he said.

Musa was speaking at the opening the Career Carnival 2017, at Sandakan Community Hall here on Saturday.

Also present were Malaysian Public Service Commission (PSC) secretary Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad and Sandakan Municipal Council (SMC) president Datuk Ir James Wong.

There were 800 job opportunities available during the Career Carnival 2017 and some 15 companies conducted open interviews such as Shahpadu Energy Engineering, Dayang Enterprise Sdn Bhd, FLEX Sdn Bhd, Thai Odessy Sdn Bhd, Sincere Skill Academy, Roszall Sdn Bhd, Four Points By Sheraton, Gentingmas Mall Sdn Bhd, IOI Plantation Berhad, IJM Plantation Berhad, Genting Plantation Berhad, Kretam Holding Berhad, Sabah Hotel, Edaran Tan Chong Motor (Sabah) Sdn Bhd and Borneo Cove Hotel.
