Lajim to be reappointed party president next month

-

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah (Harapan Rakyat) leadership will endorse the proposal for Klias assemblyman Datuk Seri Lajim Ukin to be reappointed as party president during the annual delegates conference next month.

Its vice president, Patrick Sadom said he was confident that the reappointment of Lajim would be among the resolutions of all Harapan Rakyat divisions which are currently having their respective annual general meetings.

Sadom said Lajim, who was discharged from bankruptcy, was stripped of his post as Harapan Rakyat president with effect from September 14, in accordance with Section 9A of the Societies Act 1966. Patrick in a statement yesterday said even though Lajim was no longer the president, all Haparan Rakyat leaders and members would continue to give him their support and would endorse his reappointment as president on October 26.

“What has happened has not weakened or affected the party leadership... the support is still solid and strong. We will give Datuk Lajim our moral support in this trying time,” he said and stressed that the incident had not weakened Lajim’s credibility as a leader who was continuously championing the rights of Sabah and its people.

He also urged all to not politicise the issue which has been settled and added that Lajim was just a victim of consequences.
