The resolutions were tabled by MIC deputy president Datuk Seri S.K. Devamany who said the first resolution which touched on the Rukun Negara outlined five main principles in shaping the aspirations of Malaysians.

Selangor MIC Youth chief Kajendran Doraisamy who debated on the Rukun Negara as the core of national development, said various arising issues of late had challenged the basic principles of Rukun Negara and this could divide the people.

Hence, he called on all parties including political leaders to refrain from issuing racist statements which could cause friction among the country's plural society.

Kajendran also said that a transformation agenda framework to foster national unity should be drawn up.

Meanwhile, MIC Puteri deputy chief B.Shivaranjani urged the government to set up a Social Ills and Gangsterism Special Monitoring and Prevention Unit.
