HONG KONG: ‘Oh My Grad' marks Roger Kwok and Ada Choi's first collaboration in seventeen years.

The comedy show - the third instalment to Wong Cho-lam's ‘Inbound Troubles' series focuses on current issues that Hong Kong society has to face and this time, the issue focuses on the Hong Kong educational system.

Roger Kwok plays To Ming-chi, the hot-blooded headmaster of a boarding school who is forcibly transferred to a local private college opened up by his father, portrayed by Bowie Wu. His values towards education clashes with the school's executive director Mon Jeh, who has a practical mind. Though the two do not get along, they overcome their differences through their similar struggles.

Mon Jeh, a struggling single mother who also faces the label of being a “tiger mother”, is very strict with her son. Her severe parenting puts a strain in their relationship. Ada said, “(My) role is a mirror of many mothers today. I'm not acting it. There are mothers who are very much like my character. This story also reflects the stress that many children today have to face in regards to their education.”

As for working with Ada for the first time in seventeen years, Roger said, “I've never thought that this would happen. She still talks super fast.”

Eliza Sam and Louis Cheung play guest-starring supporting roles in this instalment. Eliza plays a popular, well-liked student, known for being “the goddess” of campus. Louis, on the other hand, plays a former school worker who gets incarcerated after Roger's testimony. He seeks his revenge on Roger after his release from prison.

The third instalment introduces new cast members Joyce Cheng, Babyjohn Choi, and Mag Lam in her TVB drama debut. Mag and Babyjohn play a couple on the show — both young college students from different socio-economic backgrounds. Joyce plays an “overseas big sister” who commands presence whenever she enters a room. Babyjohn plays the spoiled son of a rich couple who learns about the importance of education.
