Dept’s Integrity Plan launched to provide best service to public

KOTA KINABALU: The state Town and Regional Planning Department wants to provide the best service to the public and aims to achieve this with the launching of its Integrity Plan 2016 -2020.

Launched by Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor yesterday, the plan will ensure that the department becomes the catalyst in town and rural planning to ensure that land developmen­t is proper, progressiv­e and sustainabl­e as enshrined in the Urban and Rural Planning Ordinance (Sabah Cap.141).

Hajiji in his speech said the implementa­tion of the department’s Integrity Plan will be based on four objectives that will focus on developmen­t of human resources by strengthen­ing management and administra­tion, improving the delivery system’s effectiven­ess, improving the culture of integrity and that of human resource management.

According to him, the Integrity Plan will provide the policy framework, halatuju and focus on programs that will improve the integrity of the department’s personnel.

“It is my hope that with the plan, all the department’s personnel will be able to appreciate as well as carry out their duties with full dedication, integrity and responsibi­lity. I also welcome the department’s aim to improve its delivery system as well as making integrity its basis for improving its image,” Hajiji added.

He pointed out that a country’s level of progress is not only measured by its economic indicator and ability to compete but also evaluated from the aspect of integrity and moral of its institutio­ns.

During the event, 17 staff of the Sabah Town and Regional Planning Department (JPBW) received their Excellent Service Awards (APC) from Hajiji.

Present to witness the awards were Assistant Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Zakaria Edris and JPBW director Hj Mursidi Hj Sapie.

Also present were State Attorney-General Hjh Zaleha Rose Pandin and State Public Services Department deputy director Mohammad Usop.

JPBW deputy director Bernadette C. Edmund headed the list of the recipients, followed by principal assistant directors Nazri Hamburg, Nurulhayat­i Awang More and Shahrum Radzlee Mohd Samlih.

Others were Carolyn Clement Tay, Harry Issu, Lee Wah, Athanasius John Malis, Jainisan Hj Roman, Amat Mohri Hj Terimoh, Wahid Rashid, Pasdik Francies, Usly Harun, Adelynna Adeline Foo Abdullah, Rosnah Abdul Rahman, Saulim Gutok and Tan Sue Ching.
