Discharge duties competently, with integrity and accountability — CM
KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman has reminded heads of government departments and agencies to embrace competency, integrity, accountability and good governance practices in discharging their duties and responsibilities.
He said such practices were important to ensure that every development project would benefit the people.
“These include monitoring and ensuring that any allocation channeled by the government can be fully utilized to meet the needs of target groups at the grassroots level.
“This aspect is very important to emphasize at all times so that the people will always give confidence and trust to the government in providing efficient, fair and transparent services at all levels,” said Musa in his speech at the State banquet here on Friday held in conjunction with the Head of State Tun Haji Juhar Mahiruddin’s 64th birthday celebration.
Also present were the Governor’s wife, Toh Puan Hajah Norlidah Tan Sri R.M. Jasni, the wife of the chief minister, Puan Sri Faridah Tussin, and members of the State Cabinet, heads of the Federal and State departments.
Musa gave the assurance that the government is committed to continuously implementing its holistic approaches, strategies and agendas.
“We are also practising prudent spending of resources in the state, to further strengthen the economic fundamentals and financial position of the state, including addressing the challenges of global economic uncertainty.
“Hence, I urge all ministries, departments and government agencies to regularly manage public sector financial management in an efficient and effective manner. In order to ensure our success, the strong support of all parties is needed, including leaders, civil servants, the private sector and the people as a whole,” he said.
