155 villagers from Sapulut join PBRS

-

NABAWAN: One hundred and fifty-five new members from six villages in Sapulut submitted their membership forms to join Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) at Kampung Bukokoh here yesterday.

Forty of them were from Kampung Labang, Tonomon A (nine), Tampulos (14), Liningkar (35), Naturan (28) and Bukokoh (29).

The membership forms were handed over by representatives of the respective villages to PBRS president Tan Sri Joseph Kurup.

Kurup, who is also Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, said the people were confident that only the Barisan Nasional (BN) government could bring changes and development to the interior.

He said this was evidenced by the establishment of the Nabawan Sports Complex, Nabawan Health Clinic, good roads, and clean water and electricity supply for the convenience and use of the people.

“Hence, the community needs to continue to support the BN government in the coming general election.

“Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak has launched the National Transformation program (TN50) to ensure that Malaysia will continue to develop in the next 30 years,” he said.

Kurup, who is also Pensiangan member of parliament, called for all levels of society to maintain the existing unity to ensure that the people in this country could live in peace, harmony and prosperity.

He said the community should think wisely and not be easily influenced by the actions of certain irresponsible parties who tried to disturb the harmony that the people had enjoyed so far.

Meanwhile, Kurup said he would take immediate action by reviewing the cost of building the Tampulos Sapulut iron bridge and to find suitable alternatives for the community in the surrounding area to go to town and to send their children to school.
