5-year-old se­ri­ously in­jured in fifth floor plunge

GE­ORGE TOWN: A five-yearold boy sus­tained se­ri­ous in­juries af­ter fall­ing five floors down while try­ing to shift his bi­cy­cle at Flat Desa Re­lau 1 near here yes­ter­day.

North­east District deputy po­lice chief Supt Izwan Ab­dul Karim said in the in­ci­dent around 1.30 pm, N.Keshvin was be­lieved to have opened the grill in a bed­room win­dow to throw down his bi­cy­cle.

“But the bi­cy­cle got caught on a clothes­line and he climbed on the win­dow to move it,” he said, adding res­i­dents found the boy ly­ing on the park­ing lot of the flat.

“He is be­ing warded at the in­ten­sive care unit and re­ported to be crit­i­cal but sta­ble,” Izwan said.

Ac­cord­ing to him, the boy’s mother had gone to fetch her sec­ond child aged six years from a kinder­garten in Sun­gai Ara.

“She had left the youngest of her three chil­dren at home as he was asleep in the main bed­room. She said Keshvin was a hy­per­ac­tive child,” he added. - Ber­nama
