Sabah Museum to host traditional music symposium

KOTA KINABALU: The Department of Sabah Museum and the International Council for Traditional Music (ITCM) Study Group on Performing Arts of Southeast Asia (PASEA) signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) yesterday, to host the fifth Symposium of ICTM PASEA happening next year from July 16 to 22.

As the host, Sabah Museum will oversee the Local Arrangements Committee (LAC) and will publish the Proceedings of the Symposium.

The Symposium will be one of the major cultural events in the coming year, coinciding with Museum Day 2018 and the International Folklore Festival organised by the Sabah Cultural Board.

Based on previous symposia, approximately 200 participants including ICTM member paper presenters and students are expected to attend.
