KOTA KINABALU: Kinabalu International School hosted its most popular event of the year, International Day on Oct 6.

Organised by the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), International Day is a whole school celebration of the multicultural community that exists at KIS.

Students, parents and staff from the school’s 33 nations came to school wearing the national dress of their country and had the opportunity to share their culture, music and food.

The day started with an International Parade, and was followed by international themed lessons, parent-run food stalls, and a number of exciting activities for students to enjoy managed by the school’s Student Council and culminated in a lucky draw.

The principal, Alan Connah, explained “Our International Day provides a wonderful opportunity to bring together our diverse community from over 33 nations. At KIS we pride ourselves on our family friendly community. The hard work and inclusive spirit of our parents, students and staff resulted in a day that was thoroughly enjoyed by all.”
