Rural Entrepreneur Carnival to feature 732 booths
KUALA LUMPUR: The upcoming Rural Entrepreneur Carnival 2017 (KUD 2017), to be held on Oct 19-22 at the Putra World Trade Centre, is set to offer an array of products from local entrepreneurs.
Organised by the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKLW), the event will feature a total of 732 booths, out of which 691 booths will be taken up by local entrepreneurs, 30 booths by private companies and government agencies and 11 booths by KKLW and its agencies.
In a statement yesterday, the ministry said that the event will also feature the Rural Business Challenge, Desamall Online, the Rural Economy Financing Scheme (SPED), Road to Hypermarket and the Mobilepreneur programme.
The carnival will be officiated by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Oct 20.
Themed “Rural Entrepeneurs, Global Products”, and using the #supportlocal hashtag, the event will offer food and beverages, agricultural products, lifestyle, health and beauty products, information and communications technology (ICT) and creative ICT products, as well as services and tourism products.
Highlights of the event include the Trade Day and Business Matching sessions with 65 potential companies, entrepreneurship seminars, a forum for undergraduate entrepreneurs, cultural performances and product demonstrations.
The event will also feature performances by top local artistes such as Jamal Abdillah, Ella, Amy Search and Siti Nordiana. — Bernama
