LDP also calls for ban on Ibrahim
KOTA KINABALU: Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Central Youth Movement secretary David Ong urged the Sabah Immigration Department to ban the entry of any individuals who intend to spread extremist ideologies in Sabah, be it leaders from the ruling or opposition parties.
He said the department must take stern enforcement to deny the entry of these individuals in order to safeguard the racial peace and harmony in Sabah.
In a press statement issued yesterday, Ong criticized Perkasa chief Datuk Ibrahim Ali for telling the minorities in Sabah (Chinese) to stop making ‘nonsensical’ demands during the organization’s special annual conference held in Tuaran recently.
He said Ibrahim’s provocative remarks intended to damage the harmonious relationship between the Chinese and indigenous people in Sabah.
“The Chinese have always lived in peace and harmony with the indigenous people in Sabah.
“But I suppose Ibrahim would not believe that due to his extremist ideologies.”
Hence, Ong called on the Immigration Department to take stern enforcement to ban extremist individuals from spreading their radical ideologies in Sabah.
“Besides Ibrahim, Red Shirts leader Datuk Seri Jamal Md Yunos and former DAP member Hew Kuan Yau, known for his vulgar language, should also be denied entry into the State.”
Ong said these extremist individuals only had one goal, that was to divide Sabahans for their personal interests.
“Ibrahim’s remarks and attempts to stir hatred among the indigenous people of Sabah against the Chinese was uncalled for.”
He said politicians should serve people of all races, rather than instil hatred among the rakyat to fuel their own personal agenda.
“Sabahans must not let our Land Below the Wind be tainted by dirty political tactics.”
