Hotel promotes healthy lifestyle
KOTA KINABALU: Hyatt Regency Kinabalu promotes healthy lifestyle among the local community through its first Fitness and Wellness Journey program.
The program was held in conjunction with the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which started on Friday until yesterday.
On the first day, the event began with a closed private session of fitness regimen for the hotel associates and followed by an open session for the public on Saturday.
Two fitness instructors, James Wong and Alice Kuit Freeman, were invited to conduct the exercise sessions.
An RYT 2OO-certified Yoga Alliance teacher and trainer who runs his own yoga and Pilates School, Wong has more than 15 years of yoga practice and ten years of teaching experience.
Alice is a Nirvana Fitness education specialist; an Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) certification specialist and a Fatburn Extreme regional master trainer.
Wong conducted basic yoga exercise of releasing tight tension muscles while Alice led the participants on breathing right with nirvana fitness.
The instructors showed the participants on how the fitness regimen linked to preventing breast cancer from recurring.
Other than that, Dr Shazwani Shabudin from the Radiotherapy and Oncology Department of Hospital Likas was also invited to give a talk on breast cancer awareness.
The talk was to give the participants more insights into how to prevent the disease from occurring.
“I hope that our guests had a wonderful time during the event. I want our guests to look fabulous yet have fun while getting fit.
“I hope guests and associates alike were inspired to prioritize their wellbeing, not only this event but for the rest of their lives,” said the Hyatt Assistant Public Relations Manager Ervina Masduki, who is also the head organizer of the program.
The participants also enjoyed lucky draw prizes which offered winning prizes such as complimentary accommodation at Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, a complimentary lunch or dinner buffet at Tanjung Ria Kitchen, and a complimentary massage at Avantang Spa.
