No problem for BN even if opposition parties merged – Ramlee

- By Azmie Lim

SEMPORNA: Barisan Nasional's (BN) credibility with its much vaunted excellent service record is hard to beat even if the opposition parties were to merge.

Sabah Umno deputy information head Datuk Ramlee Marhaban is of the opinion that all this while, BN has given the best service to the people.

According to Ramlee, he reckons that a majority of the people in the state strongly supported the BN on the premise that the BN's leadership has developed the country and the people.

“BN cannot be compared to any party and our record has proven that BN had given excellent service to people. BN leaders are always on the ground to give assistance at all time, especially when needed by people, unlike other parties that only appear and act aggressively during the election season,” said Ramlee, who is also the Assistant Minister of Finance.

Ramlee reckons the people are also aware of the opposition's tactic which, he claims, uses slander, sentiment and issues to besmirch BN to gain support. He called on the people not to be deceived anymore and to choose the party with the excellent record over those parties that only talk.

Unlike the opposition, Ramlee said the BN government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Abdul Razak had always strived to develop the country and the people.

“Instead of using dirty tactics, we work hard and give full commitment while fulfilling our responsibility to develop the country in order for the people to prosper,” he said.

Touching on the opposition, Ramlee said their intention to merge is doubtful of being successful as they each have their own agendas.

Meanwhile, Ramlee, in his speech at the Majlis Setia Bersama Pemimpin yesterday, urged all community leaders, including those at the village level to work together to develop the district as efforts to develop the district needs the cooperation from all parties.
