Abandoned son longs to meet biological parents

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Despite being abandoned at a bus stop in Kuantan, Pahang when he was only 10 days old, Mohamad Putera Zainuddin does not have any feeling of resentment toward his biological parents.

In fact, Mohamad Putera Zainuddin, 21, is on a mission to find his parents and his efforts went viral on social media recently.

“I miss them (parents) very much even though I have never met them. My instinct tells me that they are still alive. If they see the video, I hope they will contact me and I promise that I’ll not reveal their identity or face to the media,” he told Bernama after appearing as a guest on Bernama News Channel’s (BNC) Nine11 programme at Wisma Bernama here yesterday.

Mohamad Putera said he was told that he was adopted by his adoptive parents, Zainuddin Ahmad, 56, and Saodah Mahmood, 59, when he was six years old.

“But then, I did not know what it really meant, until I was in my teens when my desire to find my biological parents became stronger, despite getting undivided love from my adoptive parents,” he said.

He believed his parents had their reasons for leaving him in a box at a bus stop at Kampung Megat, Jalan Maran, near Tasik Paya Bungor, Kuantan, on Sept 23, 1996, before he was discovered at around 7am.

Mohamed Putera studied at Sekolah Menengah Dato Sri Amar Diraja Muar, Johor, and is now pursuing a Diploma in Medical Assistant at a college in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. - Bernama
