Remember to be human in pursuing success, Masidi tells graduates
KOTA KINABALU: Remember to be human and kind when pursuing success in the real world, said Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun.
“I can't promise that this world will be easy at all times, but your life will have many advantages as well. You have all the information that mankind has gathered right in your pocket, right in your smartphone,” said the minister to 105 graduates during the 6th Almacrest International College Convocation at the National Department For Culture And Arts (JKKN) Complex here yesterday.
“So use that great invention and information to search for facts that will make our world a better one for all of us. Furthermore, I want you all to stay true to the most real, most sincere, most authentic parts of yourselves.
“The choice is right in the palm of your hand. You have the right to be better, to improve, to give back to others, to create an impactful mark on the world. Breathe in all the positive and exhale all the negativity. Take in all the good and throw away all the bad. We must learn how to be human,” he advised.
Masidi, who is also state education exco, also reminded graduates to not forget all the people who had helped them succeed in their studies.
“Your parents, family and friends. They were there to push you up to this day. Be kind to them, be humble, give back what you can,” he said.
“Most importantly, say thank you. Always say thank you to those who have helped you because without them you would not be standing on this stage celebrating this glorious moment,” emphasized Masidi.
