AIM bringing people out of poverty through entrepreneurship
TAMBUNAN: Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) is striving to bring rural communities out of poverty, said its Tambunan district patron Datuk Jake Jikulin Nointin
Jake said the aim of the trust body is to help the less fortunate and this directly would reduce poverty in Malaysia through the issuance of funding for activities to increase its members’ income.
“The members of this organisation have a strong desire and sincerity to improve the peoples’ lives through business,” he said in his speech when officiating at the Sahabat AIM Entrepreneur dinner function organised by the AIM Tambunan Entrepreneur Club at the community hall here on Saturday.
Jake said the theme of ‘Together to Build’ aimed to raise the district AIM’s name to the highest rank.
He also stressed that AIM played a very important role as a socio-economic engineering agency which holds the main thrust of bumiputera empowerment agenda, especially in this area.
“In line with this strategy, we are putting emphasis on the efforts to produce more rural entrepreneurs in this state.
“This is because entrepreneurs are the most important cluster in the strengthening of bumiputera socio-economics through job opportunities and wealth creation, which in turn support better living standards,” Jake said.
He added that AIM was one of the touch point programmes which bring the government closer to the people by bringing them out of poverty.
Jake pointed out that it was evident AIM has a huge role in eradicating poverty and hopes that its efforts can be further developed as it continues to be a catalyst of growth.
