New method of filling application form for SPM holders next year

-

MELAKA: A new method of filling the online application form for entry to public universities for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) holders or its equivalent will be implemented next year, said Director of Student Enrolment Management Division, Higher Education Department, Mazula Sabudin.

She said the new method would not require candidates to key in their SPM results as the results would be automatically entered by the system, which is developed by the department, based on information obtained from the Education Department or the Examination Board.

She said based on the results, candidates would be given suitable study programmes to choose from.

“Students normally choose programmes that they like, but may not be suitable with their results. So, the new method aims to avoid wastage and assist students to make the right option.

“Through this method, students who do not meet the stipulated requirements automatically cannot opt for programmes that do not suit them,” she told reporters after opening the ”Jelajah UPU 2017” programme here yesterday.

Also present were Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) Univeriti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Razali Mohamad and Melaka Education Department liaison officer Abdul Halim Abdul Malek.

Mazula under the new method, candidate only had to fill in their name, family particulars, cocurriculum activities and choose study programmes that suited their results.
