Full turn-out expected at NGRK Round-3 golf series tourney

KOTA KINABALU: Nexus Golf Resort Karambunai is expecting a full turn-out for its Round-3 golf Series 2017 Tournament scheduled on November 19.

NGRK golf operations director Steven Cheah said the postponement of the Round-2 event on October is expected to attract a full turn-out of 120 players this time around.

“The Round-2 event for seniors was postponed due to course conditions which were not permitting at the time with heavy rain.

“This Round-3 event will combine players from the open and senior categories and therefore we expect it to be a full turn-out,” he said when met here yesterday.

Cheah said the open category is only for those who are 18 and above, while the senior section is for players aged 55 and above.

“Winners will be eligible to play in the Grand Final on December 17 for free,” he said, while urging those interested to join and register as soon as possible.

Cheah said the tournament will be conducted on a System 36 Stableford format and there will be attractive hole-in-one prizes up for grabs.

“Among them is a cash prize of RM5,000 and RM10,000 at the Grand Final. These prizes are sponsored by Kurnia Insurance,” he said.

“There are lucky draw prizes including air tickets sponsored by MASwings, golf bags, accommodation vouchers, golf vouchers and wild cards for the Grand final,” he added.

The tournament's sponsors are Nexus Resort & Spa Karambunai, Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, Toro, Club Car, Agri Pacific Sdn Bhd, Ying Cheng Construction and Bukit Unggul Country Club.
