Crocodile's head found
SANDAKAN: The head of a crocodile was found on the roadside at Jalan Sungai Batang, Mile 10, Labuk Road here.
The reptile is believed to have been shot, said Sandakan Wildlife Department (SWD) officer Hussien Muin.
He said the department's personnel went to the location after the incident was reported through the social media on November 5.
They confirmed that it was the head portion of a crocodile minus its body and limbs that was left by the roadside of Jalan Sungai Batang.
Upon inspection of the crocodile's head, a gunshot wound was found, leading them to believe that the crocodile was shot to death.
“Based on the size of the head, the crocodile was estimated to be around 14 to 15 feet in length.
The SWD personnel did not rule out the possibility that the crocodile was from Sungai Batang.
The case will be investigated under the Wildlife Conservation Enactment 1997.
Meanwhile, fleshy remains believed to be that of a plantation worker who went missing on Sunday while fishing at Sungai Segama in Lahad Datu, were found yesterday.

Affendy said a fire and rescue team rushed to the scene to get further details and make preparations to launch a search and rescue operation. However, due to darkness, it was discontinued and resumed yesterday.
